Customizable Banner Ads – Best Uses

Written by: Categories: Features,News
December 2nd, 2009

As stated in the previous blog post, we are now offering with each Premium OCC Account customizable banner advertisements within the customer chat window. Free OCC accounts have 2 areas occupied with banners for our chat services. In the future, we will be targeting 3rd party advertisements in these locations.

Upgraded Premium Account customers have these advertisements automatically disabled and now have the ability to add their own custom banners to occupy these 2 locations.

Advertisement Locations

In-Chat Advertisement Locations

Some best uses for these spaces:

Promoting your other/new products
Promote your little known or newly released products for sale here, linking to the respective product page. Any new product that needs greater exposure to your site’s visitors will be ideal for this location! Couple the ad with product-targeted canned messages within the chat to initiate a conversation with your site visitor about the product!

Rotating your portfolio
Ideal for designers or print companies – show off your work with rotating banners of your most recent projects, linking them to the external site or the project page in your internal portfolio. Show off logos, websites, print ads and more!

“Did you know?” help tips
Help tips showcasing common issues visitors chat with you about can preemptively answer their questions, reducing unnecessary chat requests and freeing up your chat operator staff. Example of one such tip could be “Did you know clicking on the Design Customization link under your administration panel allows you to customize the colors and look of your chat window?”

Knowledgebase linking
Again, to minimize unnecessary chats, have a more prominent link to your knowledebase, FAQ or other support page to answer a visitor’s questions and encourage them to further explore your site with no manpower!

Sell adspace
Finally, and likely the most popular, sell the banner adspace to advertisers and actually GET PAID for using our service!

Upgrade your account for $29.95/year by clicking the My Account link after logging in to your administration panel.

Do you use this ad space creatively or have ideas to share? Share them with us.
